Hello, my name is Fjord
I’m a Samoyed who loves getting out and about on Saturday mornings. I’ve sampled a number of local parkruns but seem to visit Stones Corner the most. I’m more of a walker/runner (built for comfort, not speed) and like to take it pretty slow, I’m a big believer in sniffing every single tree and bush along the course. Twice. I also have to make sure that my owner carries multiple “number two bags” with him, as I love to leave my mark on the parkrun community in my own way.
As you can probably tell by my slightly fluffy appearance I’m more of a winter parkrunner, but love to come down and watch in the warmer months, there is plenty to see, sniff and do while waiting for my human “poop-scooper” to return. I also love seeing all the other parkdogs and people about, I do like a good pat. I’m thinking of volunteering for the tail walker position at a future parkrun, at that pace I’ll be able to sniff even more and I also have a tail, so I feel qualified for it.
One of the key principles of parkrun is to keep it simple. We love that it doesn’t take much to take part in parkrun. One requirement we do ask is for you to bring along a printed barcode if you want a time. parkrun is a global organisation with a database of almost 4 million people….
