The highlight of Gracie’s week is her Saturday morning Jells parkrun.
We are not quite sure how she knows, but she does not leave our side on a Saturday morning and barks and carries on until we get in the car and are on our way. Gracie has run 95 parkruns and is due to hit her 100 run milestone soon. She has even volunteered on several occasions.
Gracie just loves to run in any weather conditions and walking is not an option. Gracie has made some special friends at Jells parkrun and loves all the special attention she receives each week. She is not keen to listen to the pre-run briefing each week as she is quite vocal and eager to get to the start line. We are not sure if Gracie is excited about her run or the fact that she knows we head to the cafe for a coffee after each of our 95 runs! She knows this means muffin time and waits patiently for her piece. She is not keen to share but has been known to sit under the table with Rueben (our special little 18-month-old parkrun friend) and munch away together, Rueben doesn’t seem to mind sharing with a dog.
We love the fact that parkrun is happy for us to bring her along each week and we know she loves it as much as we do. Saturday morning parkrun at Jells Park has become a very special part of our lives. Thank you.

The 3rd annual parkrundownunder Day is on again this Saturday! The Run Down Under program was born out of an idea of running in every state, either at events or different parkruns. Founder Travis Ireland wanted to ensure that people kept going with their exercise and fitness rather than simply stopping at the conclusion of…
