My name is Lucy and I am an 8-year-old Pomeranian x Chihuahua. I found myself at the lost dogs home recently and I was too scared to be adopted so I was sent to Chihuahua Rescue for rehabilitation.
After one month I felt well enough to be adopted and I got a new home with a chihuahua brother. My new family were parkrunners. They like to travel to all over the place for parkrun and because they had just moved house they didn’t like to leave me and my brother Chiko home alone.
I wasn’t very good at parkrun at first. I found all the humans a bit scary, so after the first kilometre I stopped and I got carried. But my humans kept bringing me and slowly I got used to it, walking more and being carried less. Last week I walked my first full 5kms without being carried! My humans were very proud of me. I am getting fitter and feeling great!
I have walked Altona Beach, Willow, Wimmera River, Maribyrnong, Rosebud and Churchill parkruns.
Apparently soon I am going to be a pirate dog!
