Vhi launches junior parkrun roadshows

Shelbourne Park junior parkrun in partnership with Vhi

Following on from the success of the Vhi roadshow at 5k parkruns across Ireland, Vhi is calling on families to experience junior parkrun as it launches a series of special junior parkrun roadshows to celebrate their partnership with parkrun Ireland.

junior parkruns are 2k timed runs for for 4-14 year-old walkers and runners, and their families. They are free to take part in and provide a fun and safe environment for children to enjoy exercise.

The Vhi Roadshow will be visiting St Anne’s junior parkrun on 23 September before travelling down to Kerry to visit the junior parkrunners of Tralee on 14 October.

St Anne’s junior parkrun director, Gillian Kenny, is extending a warm welcome to newcomers:

“There is a fantastic atmosphere at St. Anne’s junior parkrun every weekend and we’re all really looking forward to hosting the Vhi Roadshow on Sunday 23 September. We are encouraging all families to come down and it doesn’t matter if you have never attended a junior parkrun before. It’s non-competitive and children can sprint, walk, jog or skip their way around the course. It’s really about being active and making new friends.”

Vhi will be hosting a lively warm up routine at these events which will be great fun for children and adults alike. Crossing the finish line will be a special experience as children will be showered with bubbles and streamers to celebrate their achievement and a gift for each child. Refreshments will also be provided by Vhi at the finish area.
