Getting the most out of your parkrun

Hove Park_7833_900x416

This week at Intersport we want your help! We know that there are plenty of parks out there with gym equipment, and if you’re lucky enough to have a free outdoor gym, there are plenty of quick and easy exercises you can do to enhance your running!

But – we know that many of them are not used because people don’t know what to do, and we want to change that with your help.

We’d like to hear from all parkrunners who have gym equipment in their local park, and find out whether you use it or not? It’s a little bit of research ahead of a series of videos we’re creating here at Intersport with one of our expert trainers to show you how to use the equipment in your parks.

So, we’d love it if you could please:

  1. Snap a photo of your local park gym,
  2. Send it to us via Twitter, Instagram or Facebook (links below), including #Intersport and #parkgym in the copy and
  3. Don’t forget to tell us where it is and whether you use it or not!

Thanks so much in advance, by working together we’ll be able to bring you some fun and useful content to add to your general fitness regime.

The Back to Front parkrunner

I believe the majority of people who start going to parkrun start off slowly and then go chasing PBs and get faster. Well I am the opposite. Let me take you back to the start of my parkrunning journey.   I first started running back in 2009 when I entered the 2010 London Marathon to…

John clocks up 2,660km

This week we want to celebrate the incredible effort of Hazlehead parkrunner John Elrick who finished top of the Running Down Dementia distance leaderboard.   John clocked up 2,660km between May and the end of October – that’s further than the distance from his home in Aberdeen to Moscow!   The 61-year-old was also part…
