parkrun Hero - 12th December 2018

Volunteer Heroine: Marilé Van Schalkwyk

Robertson parkrun #event 22 - 13 Oct 2018

One of our most valuable volunteers is Marilé Van Schalkwyk. She would always rather volunteer and not complete the parkrun herself. She has only completed the course once here and has volunteered 33 times! We started our parkrun on 12 May 2018 and she prepared 25 direction arrows, 4 distance boards as well as 4 motivation boards for me, as well as a wooden key box, a token box and much more.

Marilé is our Funnel Manager and each Saturday helps to set up our finish as well taking it down afterwards. She took the volunteering roster out of my hands as well as doing the results as soon as she arrives home after parkrun each week. She volunteers for all the crucial volunteer positions like timekeeping, scanning, photography, Run Directing etc. She is my most committed as well as reliable volunteer, her energy and positive input make her the one who keeps everything together.
