The School of parkrun

parkrun_school_linear1

parkrun may be out for the time being, but the School of parkrun is here!

We’re super happy to say that from Monday 30 March, we will be setting daily parkrun-themed tasks for children of all ages and the whole family to try together.

We’ll be covering five subjects:

  • English
  • Science
  • Geography
  • Maths
  • Art

Each morning we’ll set you a new challenge for the day on our YouTube channel, and you can then send us your work on social media using the hashtag #schoolofparkrun and we’ll share some of our favourites each day!

Here is your timetable:

All challenges can be done around the house or in the garden, making sure you stay safe and at home during this difficult time.

At the weekends, there are no lessons, but every Sunday morning we’ll have a special junior parkrun warm-up that the whole family can try in the living room or garden!

We should just say, the School of parkrun isn’t an actual school and there is no formal curriculum or exams (or detention!)… But we hope you’ll find it a fun way to learn more about parkrun as a family.

Parents: Make sure you follow parkrun on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube for daily tasks, and use the hashtag #schoolofparkrun

Bring on 1,000 parkruns

Have you ever wondered who has completed the most parkruns, or who has the most volunteer credits? You’re about to meet Darren Wood and Nicki Clark!   Some might be surprised to learn that neither parkrunner was at the first parkrun event back in 2004. But ever since Darren and Nicki started, they have never looked…
