Australia update – 12 November

As COVID-19 restrictions begin to ease in some Australian states and territories, we want to share the latest news on what this means for parkrunners in areas where events have been paused.

Australian Capital Territory

This weekend we welcome back our events in the ACT. All participants are strongly encouraged to check in via the Check In CBR App and follow local guidelines when travelling to the event.

New South Wales

The recent delay to the lifting of restrictions in NSW means we are now targeting reopening events across the state on Saturday 18 December. As such, we will continue to work closely with event teams, ambassadors and landowners, and will provide a further update to confirm the reopening nearer the time.

Today we wrote to the Victorian government seeking clarification of our classification – an important step that would allow us to return events across the state almost immediately.

Although some restrictions mean that we are not able to be open everywhere across the country at the moment, and in some instances, we have no clarity on when it might be that we can return, we are confident that the situation is improving.

Thank you, as always for your continued support.
