Celebrate togetherness with Thank You Day

GL_MayWk1_Together

On Saturday 4-5 June, we would love for parkrun events to come together and celebrate togetherness, gratitude, and all things community – the beating heart of parkrun.

Of course, parkrun events are already a fantastic way of uniting people, but why not extend the togetherness with a delicious post-parkrun picnic?

For Thank You Day this year, we are inviting everyone to participate at their local parkrun, whether that’s as a walker, a runner, a volunteer, or simply for a chance to get out in the fresh air and join in with the local community. Everyone is welcome. So why not invite a friend, a  neighbour or even just someone who you would like to thank, out for a walk, a cuppa or a chat?

Each week people get together, outside in our green spaces, to walk, jog, run, volunteer, catch up with friends and connect with others, together.

parkruns are safe and inclusive spaces for anyone to come along and be active, in whatever way suits them.

There’s no pressure to complete the whole distance, many people volunteer or come along to watch. Children can take part from the age of four, and prams are welcome too. It’s a whole family affair. Bring along a friend, or a neighbour you haven’t connected with for a while and let’s celebrate each other, together!

Find your nearest parkrun and register on the website here. We’re looking forward to celebrating togetherness with you on Saturday 4 June and Sunday 5 June, at parkrun and junior parkrun.
