Meet CONTRA Ambassador Dawn

Dawn

CONTRA was created by parkrun Founder Paul Sinton-Hewitt because he saw the need for a sportswear brand that embraced inclusivity and fairness, a brand designed to do away with discomfort by offering high-quality kit in ten different sizes and fits.

Our CONTRA ambassadors have been road, trail and treadmill-testing our clothing range and here’s what one of them, Dawn Nisbet, had to say:

“Running in CONTRA kit frees my mind. I’m a size 18 but when I’m running in CONTRA I don’t worry about what I’m wearing; I’m no longer thinking about feeling uncomfortable, or self-conscious.

I’m not pulling my top or t-shirt down, or hiking my running leggings up in a bid to cover bits of my body and that’s because CONTRA kit fits me and my shape.

Feeling comfortable and confident allows me up to focus on my surroundings; on where I’m running and who I’m running with. It’s truly liberating!

What’s more, whilst I get so much pleasure from running I don’t want my enjoyment to be at the expense of someone else’s well-being; knowing that the staff who made my kit are paid a fair wage and that all the profits go back to parkrun makes me feel even better.”

Check out the range here and join the movement. Did you know that all profits from CONTRA go straight back into parkrun – so it’s a great way to support the organization!

A couple of things to keep in mind if ordering CONTRA from Canada:

There is a flat rate, global shipping charge (£4.95, which is ~$8 CAD)

Make sure to check the size guide. (UK women’s sizing is different from Canadian)
