Recruiting: Social Media and French Translation Ambassadors

Ambassador team

We’re on the lookout for 2 new Social Media Ambassadors and 2 French Translation Ambassadors to support the parkrun Canada Comms team to maintain our blog, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Do you love the parkrun community and want to see it grow? Are you passionate about the power of physical activity to change the lives of as many people as possible?

Interested? Then read on!

Social Media Ambassadors

You would be joining an existing team of 5 Ambassadors who take it in turns to manage parkrun Canada’s social media for 1 week at a time. This means that you will be volunteering approximately 1 week in 7.

During a typical week “on duty” you will:

  • Curate the best photos from across our Canadian parkruns
  • Schedule daily posts of photos, news and stories across all social channels
  • Upload 2-3 blog posts which are sourced from contributors from the parkrun community
  • Respond directly to comments and questions as the voice of parkrun Canada

As a team we fill the roster by mutual agreement, and the commitment is 2-3 hours for each week you cover.

Do you:

  • Love parkrun?
  • Have a sound knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)?
  • Have existing skills in communications and social media, or are you looking to develop them?
  • Have an outstanding level of written English and/or French?
  • Have a reputation for your ninja-like time management skills and productivity?
  • Want to be able to add a global brand to your resumé?

And for bonus points, do you:

  • Have previous experience managing a brand or not-for-profit social media account?
  • Have a working knowledge of WordPress?

French Translation Ambassadors

We are looking to strengthen our team of French Translation Ambassadors.

During a typical week “on duty” you will:

  • Receive the English version of a blog article
  • Translate it into French within a 1 week deadline

Your commitment would be a minimum of 1 article per month, but more is great! We will fill the roster by mutual agreement.

Do you:

  • Love parkrun?
  • Have an outstanding level of written French and a good understanding of English?
  • Want to be able to add a global brand to your resumé?

To apply for either role, please send an email to telling us a bit about yourself, and why you’re interested in applying to be a parkrun Canada Social Media Ambassador. If you have any examples of previous social media work you’ve done, we’d love to see that too!

Closing date: Friday Jan 31 2020
