Thanks to the parkrun community from Intersport

Recently we asked for your help at Intersport for a little research into park gyms. We wanted to know who had a gym in their local park, and who used it! A big thanks to those in the parkrun community who snapped a pic of their #parkgym for us, including Heather Harper who sent in the above image of her park gym at Enniskillen.

There are certainly some great ones out there, but it seems there are plenty that go unused – which is where we come in! Here at Intersport we want to help you get the most out of your parkrun by creating a series of short videos to show you how to use the equipment in your local park. A quick warm-up or some strengthening exercises will do wonders for your running, especially on parkrunday! And the best bit is, it’s free – just like parkrun – making it accessible to everyone!

So keep posting and we’ll get working on some top tips to help you use your park gym.

It’s not too late to get involved, all you have to do is:

  1. Snap a photo of your local park gym,
  2. Send it to us via Twitter, Instagram or Facebook (links below), including #Intersport and #parkgym in the copy and
  3. Remember to tell us where it is and whether you use it or not!

Don’t forget that whatever your running needs, we’re always on hand at Intersport with plenty of expert advice, from tips about running through to gait analysis and finding your perfect shoe; find your nearest store here.

Remember that you can claim 10% off at Intersport as part of our ongoing parkrun partnership price #PPP*. Simply show your parkrun barcode in store (#DFYB!) to claim 10% off running products**.

Do keep sending us your pictures via Twitter @IntersportIE and Instagram with #loveparkrun, and like us on Facebook.

See you at your next parkrun!

*PPP valid at all participating Intersport stores; see our website for details.
