Join Olympian Mick Clohisey at Father Collins parkrun this Saturday

Mick Clohisey is calling on walkers, joggers and runners to join him at Father Collins parkrun on Saturday, 5 October when Vhi will host a special event to celebrate their partnership with parkrun Ireland.

 

In addition to the normal parkrun on the morning, Olympian Mick Clohisey will be on hand to lead the warm-up for parkrun participants and offer support and encouragement to newcomers and seasoned parkrunners alike. Afterwards, parkrunners can enjoy Vhi’s hospitality in four separate recovery zones – Rehydrate, Relax, Refuel and Reward.

 

Vhi will be helping participants rehydrate and refuel with a selection of healthy snacks. A qualified yoga instructor will be on hand to guide participants through a post-event cool down and stretching routine in the ‘Relax’ zone and finally, Vhi will be rewarding participants with a selection of goodies when they scan their barcode in the Vhi vending machine.

 

Father Collins parkrun event director, Alan Foley, is extending a warm welcome to newcomers;

 

“The community at Father Collins parkrun prides itself on being welcoming to all, so if you’ve never completed a parkrun before or have just let your parkrun habit slip, we would encourage you to give it a go this weekend. Vhi will be rewarding participants and volunteers so Saturday is a great opportunity to get active! Just register at parkrun.ie, bring your barcode and we’ll see you at Father Collins parkrun, for what should be a brilliant morning!”

 

Olympian, Mick Clohisey added;

 

“parkrun is a brilliant way to get some exercise, socialise and generally get your weekend off to a great start. I always enjoy the warm, friendly atmosphere at each parkrun I have ever visited, so I am really looking forward to helping and encouraging everyone at Father Collins parkrun on Saturday morning. In Father Collins on Saturday morning you’ll see walkers and runners of all ages and abilities so don’t worry if you haven’t run or walked 5km previously. Vhi will have four separate recovery zones at the finish to help you rehydrate, relax, refuel and be rewarded for your participation.”
