Darren O’Beirne is the winner of the Vhi parkrun social media competition!

Congratulations to Darren O’Beirne who has been selected as the winner of the #Vhi parkrun social media competition. Darren entered the competition by uploading an image of himself running at Dollymount Strand, Co Dublin and used #Vhi. Darren has won himself a pair of wireless Apple AirPods headphones, which will no doubt come in handy for all his future runs!

Darren is an avid runner, having taken part in 60 parkruns along with 12 Dublin marathons and 5 world Marathon majors. Through parkrun, he has made plenty of new and inspiring friends that each share the joy of running. Darren thinks there is no better feeling than starting a weekend with the heart pumping and the adrenaline flowing!

He is also a volunteer at junior parkrun, where his kids take part. They are all missing parkrun but in the meantime are taking park in (not)parkrun and have been able to nod a hello to familiar faces in parks of Shanganagh, Marlay, and Cabinteely. In Darren’s own words – we may be apart for now, but we’re still connected by parkrun.

Well done Darren!

Make sure you keep an eye out for upcoming Vhi competitions and you too, could be in with a chance of winning!
