COVID-19 (Coronavirus) update 10 November

COVID_UPDATE_NOV_WEEK_2_CROP_FOR_BLOGSc1b8963c410c5d09

Somehow another week has passed by, and it’s time for another update on parkrun around the world. Whilst progress can appear to be slow (or even non-existent) in many parts of the world at the moment, we feel it’s important we continue to celebrate small milestones, and to share the positive steps the parkrun family is taking.

Last weekend we saw another ‘comeback PB’ with 106 events across four countries welcoming over 12,000 participants. And this Saturday we eagerly anticipate the return of parkrun in Namibia, whilst looking forward to more events returning in Australia before the end of the month, as first South Australia and then Queensland prepare to restart.

By the end of this month we should have over 200 weekly parkrun events around the world, representing a significant and welcome step forward, and something that was hard to imagine only a few months ago.

In further possibly-positive news we’re waiting to see what the South African Government announces in the coming days with regards to their national guidelines, a situation that we are keeping a particularly keen eye on with over one-million keen parkrunners waiting patiently for their events to return.

Finally, regardless of whether your event is up and running or not we remain one big community, and we are committed to ensuring our digital channels share positive news and that (not)parkrun continues for those who wish to take part.

Thanks for your continued support
