Gill Keenan embarked on a Couch 2 5k programme and never looked back. Here she tells us about her special memories at Malahide parkrun.


Starting a Couch 2 5k programme with Sloggers to Joggers in September 2014 was definitely one of the best things I’ve ever done for my physical and mental health.


Before joining I would not have ran for more than a minute and with the encouragement and support of the group the journey over those eight weeks of C25k was super, a memory I will never forget.


In July 2015 I completed my first Half Marathon and since then have completed three Dublin Marathons and a triathlon.


Never did I think starting C25k with Sloggers to Joggers would have led to so many adventures and laughs, so many Saturday mornings with special friends at our local Malahide parkrun venturing to others parkruns around Dublin and celebrating the big 50th parkrun at Jamaica Pond in Boston.
