Sunday 15 August 2021 saw the beginnings of the welcome return of junior parkrun events across Ireland.
We take a look at the special day.
The skies might have been grey but the mood was far from gloomy as seven junior parkruns returned across Ireland on Sunday. Almost 300 4-10 year olds logged a walk, jog or run, with 70 joining us for the very first time, and almost 100 personal bests being recorded.
Events were supported by more than 100 volunteers.
It was big smiles for Liz O’Reilly and her son, as he bagged a PB at Rush junior parkrun.
Paul Bissett was volunteering at the very first Dundalk IT junior parkrun.
Kids were enjoying the warm-up at Holywell junior parkrun. Therese Morris told us how great it was to be back and see so many happy faces.
Patrick Brophy’s twins Michael and Sean gave a big thumbs up for being back at Ringsend junior parkrun.
Deirdre Parnell was at the restart of Longford junior parkrun and reported lots of happy smiles from kids and adults alike.
