Galway Westside Playing Fields host their first junior parkrun!

Galway Westside Playing Fields junior parkrun in partnership with Vhi

Vhi is thrilled that junior parkrun events have returned around Ireland, meaning our junior parkrunners have been able to return to their Sunday morning 2k. On top of that, it has been great to see new junior parkrun events also starting around the country!

Galway Westside Playing Fields in Co Galway held their first junior parkrun on 7 November. Under glorious blue skies, 110 parkrunners turned out in total to walk, jog and run along the 2k route. As well as plenty of first-timers taking part, many parents joined in on the fun too.

A brilliant team of junior parkrun volunteers were on hand to make sure everything ran smoothly on the day. Even the Lord Mayor of Galway Colette Connolly made an appearance and said a few words.

Well done to all those who took part and we look forward to seeing Galway Westside Playing Fields junior parkrun in the coming months. You can check out images from their first parkrun here.
