Tony Brunton – the Vhi parkrun Hero winner for January

Tony Brunton January parkrun hero (1)

The Vhi parkrun Hero award for the month of January has been awarded to Tony Brunton from Marlay Park parkrun in Co. Dublin.

The monthly award recognises and rewards inspirational, hardworking and dedicated members of the parkrun community who embody the ethos of parkrun or have made an outstanding contribution.

Tony is a true parkrun hero of the Marlay Park parkrun community. Just before Christmas of last year, Tony completed his 250th parkrun and also celebrated his 200th volunteering occasion. Not only is Tony a regular parkrunner, he is also one of the key people who makes Marlay parkrun happen every week.

He will always be one of the first to arrive in the park and set up the course, and he is the last to leave after tidying everything away ensuring that all is ready for the next week. Tony goes about his business in a quiet, unfussy friendly way with a kind word and a smile for everyone.

On behalf of all at Marlay Park parkrun, thank you Tony for all your help over the years. Congratulations on your 250th parkrun and being awarded the January Vhi parkrun Hero!

Nominate a participant or volunteer for the February parkrun hero award at www.vhi.ie/running, and if you are a Vhi customer you can also nominate a member of the parkrun community for the award within the Vhi app. Winners will receive a €250 One4All voucher and a winner’s medal courtesy of Vhi.
