The Vhi parkrun Hero award for the month of May has been awarded to Mary Owens from Tullow parkrun in Co. Carlow!
The monthly award recognises and rewards inspirational, hardworking and dedicated members of the parkrun community who embody the ethos of parkrun or have made an outstanding contribution.
May’s Vhi parkrun Hero, Mary, can be found running at her local parkrun every Saturday, except when she is volunteering there, which she does at least once a month. Mary first began her parkrun journey 2018 by walking the 5k distance, which she can now run in less than 30 minutes.
Her daughter, Leah, is incredibly proud of her achievements and her devotion to parkrun every single week.
Nominate a participant or volunteer for the June parkrun hero award at www.vhi.ie/running and if you are a Vhi customer you can also nominate a member of the parkrun community for the award within the Vhi app. Winners will receive a €250 One4All voucher and a winner’s medal courtesy of Vhi.
