After a summer brimming with positivity and encouragement, the More Than Running summer campaign by our friends at Vhi has come to an end.
Vhi ambassadors Nina Carberry and David Gillick have spent the past two months attending parkrun events in glorious weather around the country, helping to spread awareness about the health benefits of including a parkrun into your weekly routine.
Nina and David welcomed impressive crowds of parkrun attendees in Cork, Dublin and Limerick, with fantastic events at the Mungret, Tymon, Poppintree and Ballincollig parkruns. Locals and parkrun tourists were encouraged to come along to the More Than Running events, whether you were a seasoned parkrunner or just fancied getting involved in the local community. The More Than Running campaign showed that parkrun is for everyone, whatever your age or background.
The More Than Running parkrun events included Lucky Dips with lots of fun prizes to be won including €50 One4All vouchers. Each event saw attendees encouraged to write their reasons for participating in parkrun on Vhi’s Community Wall, and it was incredible to see so many different reasons for attending on a Saturday morning.
So, after an eventful summer, the More Than Running campaign has come to an end, but we hope to see parkrun participants old and new at more events in the future!
