Two new parkrun events!

An image of lots of parkrunners jogging across a path in a park.

We welcomed two new parkrun events in one weekend last Saturday! Mountbellew Forest in Co. Galway and Dodder Valley in Tallaght, Dublin welcomed parkrunners to kick off the weekly events on Saturday 5 November.

Our friends at Vhi were on hand to capture the action and welcome a whopping 346 parkrunners to the first ever Dodder Valley parkrun. A further 145 attendees helped launch Mountbellew Forest parkrun bright and early that morning, a great turnout at both inaugural events and a terrific weekend for parkrun in Ireland! As parkrunners gathered to walk, jog, run and volunteer along the 5k route, the new events were organised with two brilliant teams of volunteers who were there to make sure everything ran smoothly on the day.

Well done to all those who took part, and make sure to keep an eye out on the local parkrun social media pages for some fantastic photography that captured the excitement!
