David Gillick and Vhi staff volunteer takeover at Cabinteely parkrun

Last Saturday morning, Vhi ambassador and Olympian David Gillick joined Vhi staff in their volunteer takeover day at Cabinteely parkrun. Despite the cold, spirits were high and 224 attendees started their weekend with parkrun and proud presenting partners Vhi!

This January, Vhi is actively celebrating the mental and physical health benefits that parkrun can offer, whether you take part as a walker, jogger, runner or a volunteer. At the Cabinteely event, David Gillick raised the energy and kicked off the morning with some warm-up exercises, while 31 Vhi staff volunteers took over all the volunteer roles on the day and encouraged participants as they completed the 5k parkrun course.

All Cabinteely parkrunners were treated to healthy snacks which kept them fuelled for the morning, and a photographer was there to capture all the action. Make sure to keep an eye out on parkrun social channels for the many shots captured on the day!

If you haven’t had the chance yet or if you are thinking of dusting off those trainers, be sure to come down to your local parkrun event this January and enjoy the many benefits it has to offer!
