The Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon ambassadors attended Vhi’s ‘Bring a Buddy Day’ at local parkruns last weekend as they continued their training for race day on Sunday 4 June.
Vhi’s ‘Bring a Buddy’ Day saw a major uplift in parkrun participation at the two locations with participants walking, jogging and volunteering their way around the respective courses.
Motivational speaker and adventurist Nikki Bradley was at Letterkenny parkrun with her sister, and 96 other people joined them for the 5k route.
In Dublin, entrepreneur & make-up artist Aimee Connolly and TikToker Emer Kelly were accompanied by friends and family to St Anne’s parkrun in Clontarf. Olympian and Vhi ambassador David Gillick was also there, making sure everyone was warmed up for the event and offering plenty of encouragement to 448 participants.
Vhi is proud to support both parkrun and the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon and want to encourage everyone who is currently training for the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon to visit their local parkruns as part of their training. There are over 100 parkruns in Ireland where people of all ages and abilities can take part in a free, weekly, timed 5k every Saturday at 9:30am.
