Deepavali celebrations at parkrun Malaysia

Recently we celebrated Deepavali, the Hindu festival of lights, at parkrun Malaysia.

Our parkrunners joined in the cheer by dressing in traditional costumes or in vibrant colours, making quite a spectacle as they streamed through our parks.

The Run Directors stole the show with RD Haizaq (pictured below in the centre) paving the way wearing his traditional kurta, at Presint 18, Putrajaya parkrun.

Meanwhile at Taman Pudu Ulu parkrun, RD for the day Gandhi Suppiah and his wife Ellen, wore traditional costumes. Ellen, encouraged our parkrunners on the course, resplendent in blues and purples. She kindly offered home-made, Deepavali treats of coconut candy and murukku for our finishers to indulge in – a hit with our regulars and visitors alike.
