After an amazing response to our request for new events and a successful recent tour of the country, things are coming together for the launch of our first events in the Netherlands in 2020. Routes are being finalised, permission is being obtained and teams are being assembled.
We are working towards a start dates in the spring, with events launching in quick succession in a number of locations from March onwards.
We will announce launch dates on the parkrun Netherlands blog page when they are confirmed, so please stay tuned for the latest information. The parkrun Netherlands website is under construction and will obviously be ready in advance of the first events with all the event details. This will also allow people to start registering for their local events.
In the first phase of launches, we hope that Amsterdam, Den Haag, Rotterdam, Eindhoven, Maastricht, Groningen, Utrecht and Nijmegen will all start new events.
Events are also being prepared in Leiden, Haarlem, Delft, Alkmaar, Enschede, Zwolle, Breda, Gouda, Arnhem, Hilversum and Amersfoort. If you would like to get involved with the local teams here, please get in touch. You could help to make a difference and get the event quickly up and running!
And if your event isn’t on the list yet, don’t worry! Please get in touch if you are keen to know more and help even more towns and cities enjoy the fun of hosting a parkrun.
Thanks again to the amazing parkrun pioneers who are working hard behind the scenes to start up parkrun in the Netherlands. You are amazing!
Looking forward to an amazing 2020 with parkrun in the Netherlands!
