Research into parkrun tourism

Lions tour

Researchers at Federation University Australia are conducting a study into the relationship between travel and health/fitness. Specifically, the project will focus on how parkrunners perceive their health and fitness and whether their interest extends to how they make tourism decisions.

Participation in the survey involves responding to a series of questions regarding the choices you make concerning health and fitness in general as well as when travelling away from home. The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and is anonymous.

If you have any questions, or you would like further information regarding the project titled: ‘An examination of the relationship between travel and fitness’, please email the Principal Researcher, Associate Professor Elisa Backer or co-researcher Dr Simon Feros.

This research has received ethics approval through Federation University Australia’s Human Research Ethics Committee. The approval number is: A16-177.

The results of the project will be disseminated through publication in an academic journal and a report will be made available for parkrun to share.
