Children at parkrun

porirua mum and son

Please do make sure that your children under 11 are always accompanied by either you (their parent), or a responsible guardian. This is a simple rule to ensure all children never get lost and also, in case they have a fall or get tired they have someone they know close by to look after them.

Luckily, here in New Zealand there are not many incidences of young children running on their own, but even one incidence is one too many. We certainly want all children to enjoy parkrun and ensuring their safety is a priority.  It’s important to note however that the ultimate responsibility for their welfare remains with their parents or guardians.
