Queenstown parkrun was excited to have an icon of the New York Marathon visit on 9th February. Peter Ciaccia was the President of the New York Road Runners(NYRR) and Race Director for the New York Marathon before retiring last year.
Thanks for a fantastic Kiwi welcome to a tourist – you had quite a few from far away places attending today. I can’t say I enjoyed the ‘upward flat section’ although the ‘downward flat section’ was very nice! Great turnout, friendly marshals and very welcoming. Thanks to all involved and good luck with your course change in a few weeks. It truly is a global event! #loveparkrun – Helen Watson, UK at Cornwall Park
Porirua parkrun recently paid tribute to Astrid and George van Meeuwen Dijkgraaf who were handing over the reins after establishing this parkrun 5 ½ years ago. The wonderful Porirua community and parkrun NZ thanks them for the incredible time and effort they have put in over the years to this popular and friendly parkrun in the beautiful setting of Bothamley Park.

And the encouragement along the way from volunteers and other fellow park runners was just so uplifting. Such a wonderful experience, so glad I finally made it to one! Rachael Scott, Invercargill
We’re really pleased you made it along too Rachael! parkrun NZ
