Some very special congratulations, biscuits, birthdays and grateful thanks this week!
A special shoutout to local runner Joelene Beck who got married and started her big day with parkrun this week.
Joelene came out in her usual active wear but this time wore her bridal veil to complete the course. Best wishes to you and your new groom and we hope to see you running Queenstown parkrun as husband and wife soon! Queenstown parkrun
Dear Whangarei parkrun Team – Happy 3rd birthday for 16th February, your parkrun will definitely continue to grow as people hear what a beautiful course it is and how friendly everyone is too! Thank you so much for making us so welcome at our first international parkrun ever. We enjoyed the stunning biscuits. Photos of these have already spread around the globe!
We had a splendid breakfast in Whangarei following one parkrunner’s suggestion, many thanks and then we took the scenic route to Auckland as suggested by another parkrunner.
Sadly, we leave the land of the Kiwis, but we could not go without saying thank you and we hope to be back one day. All the very best – Chris and Gerry Sanders, UK
Jeff Parkinson is stepping down from his Event Director duties at Cornwall parkrun. Caitlin thanked Jeff for his immeasurable service to parkrun and assured him that his humour and sharp wit will be sorely missed during the run briefings!
Thankfully it’s not a final goodbye as he and his family will still be around, but he does plan to do some well deserved parkrun tourism – so watch out all other NZ parkruns! – Cornwall parkrun
Congratulations to our milestoners this week – Raewyn Jones achieved the 50 Club, Maria Harris achieved the 100 Club, and our beloved run director Paul has now been run director 100 times! An amazing effort by you all! Cambridge NZ parkrun
