Karina Ormsby is the Event Director of Hamilton Lake parkrun. Karina talks about this lovely spot in the Waikato.

I got involved with parkrun because I love to see people moving more, enjoying exercise and meeting lots of new people in our community.

Hamilton Lake is a beautiful, scenic, flat course around Lake Rotoroa in central Hamilton, which is a stunning lake and the course is a complete full lap around it.  We share this venue with Waka Ama, sail boats as well as the usual lake wild life and  home to a range of wonderful birdlife.

For parkrun tourists Hamilton Lake parkrun is in central Hamilton so easy to get to and the locals are always pleased to have tourists come along and share our beautiful location. Afterwards we go along to Fresca Cafe on Alison Street for our post parkrun coffee and catch up.
