Achilles NZ news


Our supporter Achilles International is a worldwide organisation whose mission is to enable people with all types of disabilities to participate in mainstream athletics, promote personal achievement, and enhance self-esteem and lower barriers.


The Achilles NZ athletes and guides attended the beautiful Hawkes Bay Marathon event last Saturday, 18th May and earlier in the month they were at the iconic Rotorua Marathon and associated events. Their next event will be the Sydney marathon in September!


This week will mark the second annual Achilles Awards Dinner to be held in Auckland on Friday 24 May. It’s sure to be an enjoyable evening with great food and chat, while celebrating the successes of their athletes, guides, volunteers and Ambassadors. There will be awards for the best Female athlete of the Year, Male athlete of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and Ambassador of the Year.



parkrun New Zealand looks forward to sharing this special night with the athletes and families of Achilles NZ.
