Örebro parkrun testrun

Örebro parkrun for blog

This weekend sees the test running of the second parkrun to come to Sweden, in Örebro. The parkrun is located in a beautiful nature reserve by the waters of lake Hjälmaren. It’s a one-lap course, with the first and last kilometre following the same path. Fast and flat, all on gravel tracks, it’s a great location for a parkrun. And what’s more, there’s a great café, Naturens Hus, right at the finish so you can have a fika after you’ve run!

To get to the start and finish, follow directions to Naturens Hus – the start/finish is next to the river, just 50m from the main building. Hope to see lots of new parkrunners down there this Sunday morning, 23/10 for a 9.30 start. (Note: Örebro parkrun will, when it is up and running, usually take place on a Saturday morning at 9.30, like all other parkruns in Sweden).

More information on an official start date to follow very shortly we hope. To keep up to date with news about Örebro parkrun, you can like their Facebook page.
We’re very much looking forward to welcoming Örebro into the parkrun community!

I never believed I could

There’s no need to do the 5k at parkrun. Lois Rowland was a parkrun volunteer for more than ten years before eventually deciding to have a go at the 5k, following an ectopic pregnancy.   Having now completed 50 parkruns, she tells us her story.   My husband is a keen parkrunner and has been taking…
