An amazing new parkrun Global attendance record!

Orebro cover pic

This past weekend saw a new landmark for parkrun around the world – the highest ever turnout over a single weekend with over 340,000 people taking part as either participants or volunteers in over 1650 events spread across 20 countries!
Following on from a busy New Year’s Day, New Year’s resolutions were clearly on display as runners, walkers and joggers flocked to get outside and join in their local events in diverse locations such as Russia, Malaysia, Ireland, New Zealand, Canada and South Africa, and of course Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Sweden. Here’s the video that parkrun Global put out to celebrate this amazing new record.
This time of year in the Nordics the weather can be pretty challenging, especially the further north and east we venture. We had a few cancellations this time, including all three Stockholm events for example. But elsewhere across the region parkrunners were out in force as these photos below show:

Grethe & Steen Kristensen – to sande parkrun helte!
