Last year we had a huge success with a parkrun first, the first New Year’s Day double spanning across two countries, with Amager Fælled parkrun in København and Malmö Ribersborg parkrun getting in on the act. It was a massive success and everyone who took part will have fond memories of their particularly active start to 2019. Of course, we can never forget that parkrun relies on volunteers to help put on the events, and this year, many of the team at Malmö Ribersborg parkrun are away, including Event Directors Katherine and Phil, who are taking a well deserved trip home to Australia this holiday season.
So this year we’re keeping it more local, with two events taking place in København (Copenhagen) – Amager Fælled is back again, with Fælledparken parkrun joining in the fun with their event following directly after. Remember, New Year’s Day is the only day of the year when you can register two parkrun results, so take the chance to do so!
The plans are these:
- first parkrun at Amager Fælled at the regular start time of 9.00
- second parkrun at Fælledparken parkrun, start time 10.30

If you’re a parkrun tourist, please join this group for discussions on accommodation, transfer etc. You can also sign up to the event on Facebook.
A massive thank you to the teams at Amager Fælled & Fælledparken for putting on these events, the volunteers here really go the extra distance to make everyone feel welcome and a special shout out for those people who are helping to answer questions of all kinds on the Facebook page.
Welcome all parkrunners to København for a great day of parkrunning to start the year!
With just a few days left until the reopening of parkrun New Zealand it feels like we really are making excellent progress and, after fifteen Saturdays without a single parkrun anywhere in the world, this weekend we can all celebrate a great step forward. Everyone has worked hard and waited patiently, and we can all be…
The parkrun family is made up of 22 countries around the world, and we’ll be taking a closer look at a number of them. This week it’s Singapore!
