A new global attendance record for parkrun!

The first Saturday of the year is always a busy time for parkrun, with New Year’s resolutions for a healthy start to the year ensuring a high turnout. And 2020 was no exception!

With over 50,000 new registrations this week alone, the signs were pointing to a new record attendance record for parkrun and so it happened, with more than 336,000 walking, jogging and running parkrun this Saturday, supported by an incredible 27,000 volunteers. Country records were broken in Japan, Singapore, Ireland, New Zealand and the UK.

This means that so far in 2020 (including the New Year’s Day results) already 421,589 different people have taken part in a parkrun! If you haven’t made it along yet, we hope to see you at parkrun on Saturday!
