We are looking forward to our ‘special day’ in parkrun Sweden – the one of only two days a year (the other being New Year’s Day) when we have parkrun on another day other than a Saturday.
We had our first ‘special day’ in 2019 where three parkruns had an extra event on that day, and we’re pleased to say that this year 7 of 11 events will be having them.
So it’s quicker to mention which events are NOT having an extra event, namely Skatås parkrun (where the alternative is the nearby Billdalsparken parkrun), Haga and Huddinge parkruns (where the alternatives are Kungsängen parkruns & Uppsala parkruns, plus perhaps a slightly longer trip to Örebro parkrun) and Broparken parkrun in Umeå.
This year Nationaldagen falls on a Monday, which means a long weekend with not one but two parkruns! We’re also expecting a lot of dedicated parkrun tourists from overseas to come and visit Sweden so that they can log an extra event!
The events will take place at the regular time of 9.30 as usual. More details will be available on the respective Facebook pages for these events nearer the time.
