Following hot on the heels of Norway’s special day, next week it is the turn of Finland to celebrate their moment in the parkrun limelight, with their extra event on Thursday 18th May.
Like Norway, whilst the parkrun ‘special day’ was nominally on Christmas Day, no event had ever gone ahead with an event on that day, and the decision to move the date to a warmer and lighter time of the year was well received by all.
All but one of the existing 6 Finnish events are going ahead with their extra parkrun next Thursday, which will take place at the usual time of 9.30. We’re looking forward to the usual mixture of locals and parkrun tourists (attending both on Thursday and the Saturday two days later), which provides much fun and happiness for everyone involved.

We hope that everyone has a fantastic parkrun long weekend!
