We are delighted to announce that we have extended our partnership with community retailer, Co-op.
Co-op became the grocery retailer of parkrun in September 2017 and following a very successful three years, has renewed the partnership early, stepping up from a supporter to a partner level.
With shared values and a commitment to supporting communities, this partnership is a natural fit and together will continue to help create healthier and happier communities through exercise, food and lifestyle. As the exclusive grocery retail partner, Co-op will be offering exclusive discounts and promotions, as well as recipe advice and food inspiration to participants and volunteers pushing the ethical sourcing credentials of its own brand products, such as Fairtrade and 100% British.
Ali Jones, Customer Director at Co-op said: “We know that now more than ever those around us need help and support to get them through this pandemic and that’s why we are delighted to be able to not only continue, but increase our commitment with parkrun.
“As a retailer we are focused on improving the health and mental wellbeing of the community and by renewing our partnership we have been able to provide much-needed funding to enable parkrun to continue running whilst bringing together two powerful brands working alongside the other partners and supporters as a powerful force for good.”
parkrun Global CEO Nick Pearson said: “We’re really excited to be continuing our partnership with Co-Op and are delighted to welcome them to partner level. With a shared ethos of helping communities, we look forward to doing more work together to make the world a healthier and happier place.”
