85,000k and counting! Running Down Dementia hits full stride

Question: Who’s run around the world twice and completed over 100 marathons to boot?
Answer: All of you taking on Running Down Dementia!

More than 1,000 people have signed up for the virtual challenge and they’ve already clocked up around 85,000k. The circumference of the Earth is ‘only’ 40,075k.

More importantly, around £75,000 has so far been raised for vital dementia research.

If you haven’t yet signed up for the Running Down Dementia challenge, there’s still plenty of time to get on board.

Challenge yourself to run, walk or jog as much as you can before 31 August, and by getting sponsored to do it you can help make strides towards life-changing treatments for dementia.

You can push for 100k, challenge yourself to 300k, or simply choose a distance target that suits you.

Just like parkrun, Running Down Dementia is open to everyone of all ages and fitness levels. There’s no right or wrong way to complete your distance, you can split the challenge up to suit you and can clock up the kilometres wherever you want. And when parkruns reopen, those 5ks will count towards your Running Down Dementia total.

If you raise £400 you will receive a FREE Running Down Dementia T-shirt, which you can wear with pride while out on a run.

You can also join the Running Down Dementia community on Facebook where supporters share training and fundraising tips and encourage each other to achieve their goals.
