We’re pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for an Outreach Officer to join the parkrun team, based in our Richmond office in London.
parkrun is a health and wellbeing charity and our vision is to create a healthier and happier planet.
Since our conception in 2004, parkrun has evolved into a global social movement with a vibrant and inclusive community at its core. As of 2023, we have recorded over 90-million instances of walking, jogging, running, and volunteering.
Our mission is to transform lives by empowering people to be active, together, outdoors in their local community; and to protect parkrun for the generations to come. Each and every weekend, we deliver free, weekly timed events that people of all ages and backgrounds can join in. By tackling barriers to participation, we encourage communities to come together and embrace regular physical activity.
Now in its 19th year, parkrun spans over 2,300 locations in 22 countries with more than 8.5 million people registered, and counting. And we have really only just begun.
The role
We are seeking an Outreach Officer to be a valued member of parkrun’s Global Health and Wellbeing Team.
The focus of parkrun UK’s Health and Wellbeing Team is to improve inclusivity, increase the diversity in participation and maximise the health and wellbeing impact of parkrun across the UK.
Together with the Health and Wellbeing Manager, the Outreach Officer will devise, implement and support the evaluation of Health and Wellbeing projects and campaigns across Greater London.
The focus will be on growing and diversifying participation in junior parkrun, especially focusing on those marginalised from opportunities to take part in social, physical activity, and who may be inactive/less active or in lower states of health.
We offer great flexible working conditions and a range of employee benefits including a contributory pension plan, 25 days paid leave (plus Bank Holidays) and a commitment to develop your skills and provide training.
Applications are encouraged from people of all backgrounds and particularly welcome applications from under-represented groups, to enable us to bring diversity of perspective to our thinking and conversation.
We are committed to inclusion and ensuring that everyone that joins the organisation has what they need to thrive personally and professionally.
If you share our values and ambitions, and have the skills and experience, then we would be delighted to receive your application.
