Happy 10th anniversary, parkrun USA. Last weekend saw 1,958 finishers across 44 events on the 10th anniversary of our first USA location – Livonia parkrun in Michigan. It was our second highest attendance of the year and we had 426 volunteers last week and welcomed 270 people to parkrun for the very first time. Let’s take a look at the pictures:
Shoutout to all of our volunteers last weekend, including these top notch parkrunners from Baltimore and Annapolis Trail parkrun in Maryland. Those high vis vests sure look good on you.
The run briefing in action before Bear Creek Greenbelt parkrun last weekend – don’t forget to pay attention!
A great group out at Byxbee parkrun in California last weekend. They’re one of the farthest west parkruns in the country.
These volunteers at Charleston WV parkrun in West Virginia helped make sure that everything went as smooth as can be.
That tunnel of trees is looking pretty great at College Park parkrun in Maryland. Perfect for a lovely parkrun with family on a beautiful morning.
Creekside parkrun in North Carolina had balloons to celebrate parkrun USA’s 10th birthday, what a great way to mark the day.
And off they go at Danehy Park parkrun near Boston, Massachusetts! It was a slightly grey morning but still (of course) perfect parkrunning weather.
Deep Run parkrun in Virginia was celebrating a slightly different birthday this week – five years of their own! What a great weekend for parkrun USA.
It was hot and humid down at Depot Park parkrun last weekend, but that’s normal for Florida this time of year. It certainly didn’t stop those smiles because what do we always say? Every weather is perfect parkrunning weather.
Every season has a reason for us to say, “That’s our favorite time of year!” But, the greenery along the trail at Fletcher’s Cove parkrun in DC makes us really love spring right about now. And to think how far they’ve come from the brownness of winter.
We are loving all those bright colors at Hamlet Park parkrun in Minnesota for their 6th event.
Himmel parkrun in Arizona hosted a post-parkrun picnic in the park. What a perfect way to celebrate with all your favorite parkrunning friends.
Don’t we all wish we could get a free ride around our favorite parkrun course? It was a great morning along the water at Jamaica Pond parkrun, even for the kiddos in the strollers.
What an epic banner at Lillie parkrun in Ann Arbor, Michigan! They’re about 30 minutes away from Livonia parkrun, the birthplace of parkrun USA, and jumped at the opportunity to support their big sister.
And back to the place where it all started – Happy 10th Birthday Livonia parkrun and parkrun USA!
We saw some creative milestone shirts at Livonia parkrun – it seems like tape art is the latest trend, and we certainly aren’t complaining!
Livonia parkrun set an attendance record of 192 finishers! Their previous record was 143 from a few weeks ago, and they massively exceeded expectations. Familiar faces from all around the country made an appearance and they celebrated with a large family reunion style picnic afterwards. Happy birthday again!
A quiet finish line at Mansfield OH parkrun as they wait for the first finishers to come through. Shoutout to all of our finish line volunteers (and barkrunners!) for your help last weekend – couldn’t do any of this without you.
The tail walker bringing up the rear at Northside Beltline parkrun in Georgia last weekend – what a beautiful sight.
A lovely pre parkrun photo from Peace Valley parkrun in Pennsylvania.
Heading out from the start line at Perrigo parkrun in Washington last weekend! We do love that red barn as the back drop.
Rec Plex North parkrun in Florida keeps their trail looking so nice with regular trail maintenance by parkrun volunteers during the week – a great example of how much parkrun benefits our local communities.
All smiles at Renton parkrun last weekend.
Now that the volunteer and finish milestones are the same, that means juniors can earn a milestone after volunteering 10 times. Congrats to Clodagh at Rock Creek Trail parkrun on this exciting milestone.
Roosevelt Island parkrun’s boardwalk is looking gorgeous as ever. They were all set to celebrate their 5,000th different finisher last weekend but alas, didn’t quite make it. Just another reason to celebrate again next week!
Two thumbs up if you love parkrun! Quite a few milestone shirts were on display at Sippo Lake parkrun in Ohio.
Unofficial bonus duties of the run director: getting that perfect angle for the pre-parkrun photo. Spindle Tree parkrun in Texas had a great turnout – love to see them growing.
Some absolutely epic chalk art from Third Creek Greenway parkrun in Tennessee. So much fun.
We’ll see you next week.
