What a great weekend for parkrun USA! We nearly hit our attendance record, with 2,339 finishers across 53 events, everyone eager to take in a much cooler weekend that what we’ve been seeing throughout the summer. 509 fabulous parkrunners helped fill our volunteer roles and we welcomed 357 finishers to parkrun for the first time.
Now, let’s take a look at these pictures:
Winthrop Trailhead parkrun in Washington state hosted their 4th event last weekend with quite a few first timers learning all about the beauty of parkrun. We can’t wait to see them grow.
Nothing better than a beautiful morning stroll at your favorite parkrun. Third Creek Greenway parkrun in Knoxville, TN saw some first timers as well, and we definitely hope they’ll be back.
Great group of volunteers at Spindle Tree parkrun in Texas! Tail walker Mandy celebrated 50 volunteer occasions, which is absolutely amazing. Thanks for helping make parkrun awesome.
Did you know kids can volunteer too? Some roles require adult supervision, but some roles (like token sorting) are perfect for those junior parkrunners who want to help out. Just like here at Sippo Lake parkrun. And bonus – they’ll look adorable in the adult-sizes volunteer vests!
All smiles at Roosevelt Island parkrun. But honestly, how can you not be happy while wearing a high vis vest and helping out your favorite parkrun?
An amazing turnout for Perrigo parkrun’s 100th event! It’s awesome to see how loved our parkruns are within their communities. Here’s to another 100!
A pre-parkrun selfie is pretty cool, but so is a post-parkrun coffee selfie! Peace Valley parkrun has a lovely spot to regroup after parkrun and enjoy some coffee with friends.
It’s looking beautiful and green at Osborn MetroPark parkrun in Ohio – the height of summer.
Two thumbs up for Mansfield OH parkrun! Their course is a beautiful (and flat!) out and back along an old trail line.
Livonia parkrun had two very exciting milestones to celebrate last weekend – Tim G volunteered for the 250th time and Chris W finished his 250th parkrun! So many amazing accomplishments from our oldest parkrun in the country.
What a great view of Joe Creason parkrun down in Louisville, Kentucky. They’ve had quite a humid summer so it was a nice relief from the heat last weekend.
It really is a great view along the course at Heritage Harbor parkrun in Illinois, the path winding around the edge of a harbor.
It was a beautiful morning for Des Moines Creek parkrun, perfect for a 5k with friends.
Depot Park parkrun had their highest attendance of the year last weekend. It’s been hot down in Florida, but these parkrunners still get it done!
When we talk about run directors we always talk about how they help run the show, making sure everything goes smoothly and that everyone stays safe. But what about the cheering and enthusiasm and having fun? College Park parkrun RD Lori shows us how it’s done as the group heads off for the day – go go go!
After an oppressively humid weekend two weeks ago, City Park parkrun in Iowa City, Iowa was thrilled to have some cooler temperatures along their course.
Shoutout to all of the volunteers around the country, including these top notch parkrunners at Charleston WV parkrun.
And another spectacular crowd of volunteers at Baltimore and Annapolis Trail parkrun. Seriously, high vis vests are the perfect parkrun outfit.
