It was our last weekend of summer and what better way to spend your Saturday morning than with a 5k and some of your favorite people? Let’s take a look at what our events got up to around the country:
Baltimore and Annapolis Trail parkrun in Maryland turned one last weekend. The balloons were a lovely touch to the celebration – happy birthday!
We’re all excited for fall to arrive, but it’s certainly still summer. It was a hot one down in Texas at Bear Creek Greenbelt parkrun, but that didn’t stop their 63 finishers from having a blast.
This group of volunteers at Brecksville Reservation parkrun in Cleveland, Ohio were just handful of our 537 volunteers around the country.
Charleston WV parkrun had two black milestones to celebrate last weekend. Congratulations to Jamie on his 100th finish and Adam on his 100th volunteer!
It was a little rainy at City Park parkrun in Iowa City, but their group was still thrilled to be out there. Even the junior volunteers didn’t mind getting a little wet.
Courthouse Lake parkrun in Chaska, Minnesota also turned one this weekend and celebrated with streamers across the finish line. It’s like your own individual party as you finish parkrun, we love it.
Because we can never have too much fun, Creekside parkrun was yet another parkrun birthday last weekend. They celebrated a full year of weekly events, and this is how excited we feel about it! Mary also celebrated her 25th parkrun with this epic high five, and there were a total of 22 first timers. What an great day!
When you have two run directors but one volunteer vest, you have to get creative! Des Moines Creek parkrun was sunny and gorgeous last weekend for a perfect parkrunday.
Durham NC parkrun in North Carolina got creative with how they celebrate milestones and we are definitely fans of this creativity.
One of our inaugural events this weekend, we welcomed our fifth Florida parkrun to our ranks. Ed Austin Regional parkrun in Jacksonville had a great first event. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for you.
Our second inaugural event of the weekend was in Wichita, Kansas! Exploration Park parkrun had a beautiful sunny first parkrun, we hope this good weather streak continues.
We have a soft spot for tail walkers with a tail, and Pepper at Joe Creason parkrun in Louisville, Kentucky is no exception.
Hold onto your hats parkrunners, because we see the first signs of fall! Those are definitely some autumn leaves scattering the ground at Kensington parkrun in DC, right? Maybe? Hopefully? Cooler weather is almost upon us.
It was beautiful and foggy before Lillie parkrun last weekend, making their Adam Styron memorial bench and tree look beautiful. The sunrise put a smile on everyone’s faces as they drove to parkrun that morning.
Rumor has it wearing a high-vis volunteer vest makes parkrun significantly more enjoyable, just ask these volunteers from Merrymeeting parkrun in Maine.
Jump if you love parkrun! @ Rock Creek Trail parkrun.
Spindle Tree parkrun was perfect for the whole family last weekend. Whether you’re the one in the stroller, the one pushing it, or the one wishing you were in it, there’s a spot for you at parkrun.
Shoutout to all of our volunteers helping with the first timers welcome. Making sure all parkrunners know what they’re doing and where they’re going. Here’s a glimpse of the welcome at Weedon Island Preserve parkrun.
A beautiful morning at Winthrop Trailhead parkrun in Washington state.
We’ll see you next week!
We’re celebrating the return of baseball season at parkrun USA social HQ. Hope springs eternal this time of year and many of our events that have been burdened with snow and ice throughout the winter are finally starting to dig out. 48 events were held across the US from Cottage Grove, MN to Chapel Hill,…
St Patrick’s Day, March Madness, Pi Day… Lots of reasons to celebrate at our 53 parkrun USA events last weekend! Of out 1,955 finishers, we had 264 parkrunners finishing an event for the first time. Let’s take a look at those pictures! If events could join milestone clubs, Evergreen parkrun in New Jersey…
