Week in pictures: January 14

1-14 Livonia

We’re fully into winter now and you just never know what you’re going to get in a country as large and climate diverse as ours. Slush? Sure. Ice? You bet.

You know by now that all weather is good parkrunning weather. 49 events took place last weekend from Baltimore to Bentonville and we have the photos here to prove it:

1-14 Creekside

Creekside parkrun is off to a dynamite start in 2023. The kids were out in full force on Saturday. They had a record number of under 10s! Way to go!

1-14 Ed Austin WIP

It’s much harder to stay warm when you’re standing still. Kudos to these volunteers (and this tree) at Ed Austin Regional parkrun in Jacksonville. Thanks for braving a cold morning to bring another free 5K to the community.

1-14 Canyon Rim Trail

We get lots of likes on our Instagram (@parkrunusa like and subscribe) when we post pics of Canyon Rim Trail parkrun. Not hard to see why!

Idaho’s newest parkrun, Riverside Park parkrun in Rexburg welcomed two brand new parkrunners on Saturday. Keep coming back!

Every Saturday morning you can count on the team at Heritage Harbor parkrun. They held their 213th free timed 5K last weekend.

Our hearts are with our friends in California dealing with the torrential rains and flooding so far in 2023. It was yet another wet one at Byxbee parkrun in Palo Alto but 27 runners and walkers took advantage of a free workout and shower.

Great views and even better company at Exploration Place parkrun along the Arkansas River in Wichita.

534 volunteers helped in some fashion this past weekend. Thanks to our high-vis heroes including the team at Baltimore & Annapolis Trail parkrun.

There’s something in the water at College Park parkrun. Nothing but smiles on the trail every Saturday morning.

Congrats to our pals at Spindle Tree parkrun outside of Houston on their first year of parkrunning!

1-14 Sippo Lake

All ages, paces, shapes, sizes and abilities are welcome at parkrun. Sippo Lake parkrun in Ohio walks the walk every Saturday morning.

Don’t be late for parkrun! You’ll want to catch the run briefing to know of any potential hazards on the course and to celebrate milestones. This stellar view is courtesy of our newest parkrun, Fort Ward in Bainbridge Island, WA. 38 runners and walkers showed up for event number two last weekend.

Speaking of milestones, they celebrated a 50 at Peace Valley on Saturday. Congratulations to this parkrunner and to you if you hit a milestone last weekend.

It was gloves and puffy coat weather in central Florida on Saturday morning. This parkwalking team at Clermont Waterfront didn’t seem to mind.

1-14 South Boulder Creek

You’re either someone who runs through the slush or someone who skirts around it. All are welcome at parkrun! A rare wintertime glimpse of the grass at South Boulder Creek parkrun in Colorado.

Gaining steam in New Jersey is Evergreen parkrun off of Interstate 80 in Green Township. Put this one on your list.

1-14 Lillie

The tail walker (and tail wagger’s) job is to make sure nobody finishes last and nobody is left behind. This volunteer doggo at Lillie parkrun is making sure of it.

Thanks to the team at Mansfield OH parkrun for capturing snowy scenes on the B&O Trail for us all winter long. If you’re handy with a camera, get in touch with your local parkrun. They’d love to have you and we’d love to see your shots!

That’s all from us. See you next week!
