All of the talk around the barbecue during Memorial Day weekend had to do with our huge record breaking weekend at parkrun USA. We welcomed 3,204 runners and walkers to 61 different events from Biddeford to Bainbridge Island. Whether it was your 1st or 101st parkrun, we hope to see you back throughout the summer. Let’s see what you got into last week!

Baltimore and Annapolis Trail parkrun has become the place to see and be seen on a Saturday morning. With an out & back course and plenty of folks of all paces taking part, you’re bound to make some new friends.

Well done to the team at Umstead Park parkrun in Chapel Hill, NC for putting on their 10th event this past weekend.

5-27 Deep Run WIP

It’s easy to get up early on Saturday (even when the start time is at 8), if you know you’re going to meet your pals at parkrun. Great looking crew and a happy barkrunner at Deep Run parkrun in Richmond.

5-27 Cornerstone Lakes WIP

Chicagoland’s newest parkrun, Cornerstone Lakes has been a hit. So far 87 different runners and walkers have had their barcode scanned.

5-27 Perrigo

Looking for a way to get your whole family active? Look no further than your local parkrun. If you live in the Seattle area you have 4 to choose from like Perrigo parkrun in Redmond.

5-27 Bear Creek

It’s certainly swamp season in the Metroplex, but the runners & walkers at North Texas’s favorite free weekly timed 5K, Bear Creek Greenbelt were nothing but smiles on Saturday.

“I’m pretty tired, think I’ll go home now.” Sam at South Boulder Creek parkrun in Colorado celebrated running a 5K every day for 3 years, 2 months and 14 days. That’s a whole lot of (not) parkruns.

Eastern Trail

Maine’s newest parkrun, Eastern Trail, Biddeford held their 4th event this past weekend. We profiled their sister parkrun, Merrymeeting on the blog last week.

Flower keeper isn’t an official volunteer role just yet but thanks to this cute helper at Spindle Tree parkrun for spreading joy (and pollen).
