Our first parkrunday of September did not disappoint! 3,415 finishers and 653 volunteers decided to spend their Labor Day Weekend parkrunning, and for the first time ever we had 64 events going forward on a single day. Let’s take a look at those pictures!
These Ohio and Erie Canal Reservation parkrunners are looking great in their parkwalking vests! Have you tried volunteering as parkwalker? It’s a great way to help solidify a walking base at your event, as well as get to know other parkrunners out on the course. Reach out to your local event and give it a try!
College Park parkrun had a great week with loads of first timers, second timers, PBs, pretty much everything! Two weeks ago they welcomed a large cohort of students from the University of Maryland, and turns out college students DO like parkrun, as many were back this week!
Cornerstone Lakes parkrun in West Chicago is true to its name, there really are multiple lakes there! A great double lap course about an hour outside of the city proper, definitely one to check out if you’re out that way.
The finish line volunteers at Mansfield OH parkrun were appreciating their tunnel of trees! (Or maybe some wildlife thought they might need some extra acorns…) It’s almost that time of year for the leaves to start changing color and we can’t wait to watch the progression! With events from as north as Maine to as south as Florida, we’ve got plenty of representation to come.
Really, we can’t get enough of these pop up signs! Whether you’re a first timer, a tourist, or a stalwart finisher at your event, these make for the perfect photo op! @ Durham NC parkrun
Around the turnaround cone they go at Umstead Park parkrun, Chapel Hill in North Carolina!
There’s nothing quite like that post parkrun coffee! This group at Peace Valley parkrun in Pennsylvania was happy to enjoy the beautiful weather after parkrun last weekend.
We were lucky with the weather all over the country last weekend, with sunny skies all around! Rock Creek Trail parkrun had 73 finishers at 11 volunteers on an absolutely beautiful morning.
Did you know kiddos can volunteer at parkrun as well? Most roles can be filled by junior volunteers, and it’s a great way to get the whole family involved when the full 5k might be too much for some of those little legs. At Roosevelt Island DC parkrun, those finish tokens were in good hands!
This week’s edition of a tailwalker with a tail, with barkrunner Archie at Livonia parkrun! Thanks for pawlunteering!
That’s it from us this week, see you next time!
First and foremost, we all know that parkrun is about taking part, community, being social together outdoors, and maybe grabbing a coffee afterwards. But sometimes, you want to aim for a personal best (PB)! We share some top tips from long-distance runner and regular Australian parkrunner Steve Moneghetti about how to give yourself the…
Do you remember? The 16th morning of September? Well if you don’t, we’ve got the pics to prove you had a great time at 59 different parkrun events all across the country. Let’s see what you got into: Never was a cloudy day at South Boulder Creek parkrun. Put this one on your list if…
