Volunteer Hero: Eric Galawe

Eric

Shortly after Alberts Farm parkrun started, Eric appointed himself as a car guard / volunteer.

Come rain or shine, you will always find Eric Galawe on duty with a warm welcoming smile.  He has often brought articles dropped by runners as they get out their cars to the Run Directors on duty and makes them aware of any “unwanted” attention to vehicles while the runners are out in the field.

Eric is at Alberts Farm when the first volunteers arrive, he helps with setup, then with packing up, and is most probably the last volunteer to leave the park. As Eric is homeless, he wasn’t a registered parkrunner to begin with but was given assistance to register as a volunteer a couple of months ago so we could give the recognition he deserves. He is waiting for his purple shirt to arrive.
