Become a parkrun Ambassador

Atholl parkrun 24 Aug 2019-131

In order to support the existing and future parkrun events in South Africa, we are expanding our national network of parkrun Event Ambassadors.

This is an exciting new development and a great way to get involved in volunteering at parkrun outside of Saturday mornings!

Ambassadors are skilled and experienced volunteers who provide vital support to the Operations team within Southern Africa.

Event Ambassadors:

  • Are the first point of contact and help to support events to deliver simple, safe and sustainable events at local level
  • Provide guidance and constructive feedback to events in a supportive, motivating and reassuring way
  • Respond to queries and deal with any issues that may arise
  • Coach new teams through the activation process
  • Act as champions and guardians of the parkrun ethos

We have opportunities for Event Ambassador roles in the following areas:

  • Limpopo -Polokwane region
  • Gauteng – West Rand, Jhb North and Jhb South (Sedibeng)
  • KZN North – Richards Bay region
  • Western Cape – West Coast and Breede Valley
  • Mpumalanga – Dullstroom Lydenberg region
  • North West – all regions
  • Eastern Cape – Central Region, Komani, Aliwal North, Cradock and Graaff Reinet
  • Free State – Xhariep, Lejweleputswa, Fezile Dabi, Thabo Mofutsanyana
