Family bonding at parkrun

Mallick

parkrun is a family event for the Mallick family, who were quick to embrace parkrun soon after events first launched in Cape Town in 2013.

Faldiela and Monieb have 10 children. With only four of the children still living in the family home, it is not easy getting them all to the same parkrun event.

On 11 January 2020, with the youngest daughter visiting from South Korea, most of the rest of the children managed to join her to participate at Greenpoint parkrun where it all started. On this day, they were able to achieve an unofficial family milestone of a combined 2,500 parkruns.

The family has also managed to volunteer on more than 300 occasions!
